In last week’s draft Texas Rangers drafted former University of Georgia player Jonathan Taylor. What makes the Rangers choice unusual is that Taylor is partially paralyzed. Taylor broke his neck during collision with teammate Zach Cone during a game on March 6th. The Rangers also drafted Cone. The Rangers had already planned to draft Taylor before the injury. According to Rangers’ Director for Amateur Scouting Kip Fagg, they believe drafting Taylor was the right thing to do.

2011 NBA Champions, Dallas Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki, National Basketball Association, NBA Finals
Last night the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Miami Heat to win the Mav’s first ever NBA championship.
The Mavs won the good old-fashioned way with hard work and team work. They did not depend on three over paid classless “stars” to somehow work magic and get the championship. The Mavs had only one big time star, Dirk Nowitzki. What the Mavericks did have were 15 guys determined to work as a team.

Waiting is something that is hard for me. I don’t like to wait for anything thing. I guess it is an ADHD. I just can’t sit I have to always do something.
But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31, New King James Version)
One thing I have learned about waiting, that I while I may not enjoy the process it can also be a time of learning. Next time you get “stuck” in a holding pattern take the time to see what lessons God has for you.

Alachua county, Community-supported agriculture, CSA, Farmers Market, Gainesville Fl, Graham Farms, reviews
This year I decided to try community sponsored agriculture (CSA). I like the idea of supporting the local economy. I have been shopping at the Alachua County Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings since we moved here.
After doing research I decided to try the CSA program through Graham Farms. Graham Farms is a family operation run by Marvin and Kathy Graham. I first became aquaiinted with Marvin and Kathy through the county farmers market.
One of the things I liked about the Graham’s operation is that they are pesticide free. One of the reasons I prefer to buy produce through the farmer’s market is that I can get to know the farmers and learn which ones are pesticide free.
Affordability and flexibility were the deciding factors in selecting Graham Farms CSA over other available options. Most of the programs I found required a buy-in of several hundred dollars and ran for limited period. In many CSA programs you buy a weekly share and get a pre-packaged selection of produce. Graham Farms has two CSA programs the Market CSA & the UF/Gator CSA.
The Market CSA (the one we joined) has a year round open enrollment. The minimum share purchase is $100 and is good for one year from date of purchase. As a bonus they give 10% bonus dollars towards your share.
The cool part is that they send out a weekly email and allow me to select what items I want for the week.
The UF/Gator CSA program runs November 2011-June 2012. They offer 3 different size shares. Also, they offer banking, which allows members to skip a week or take only a partial amount of your bag. The unused portion is banked and may be used anytime before the program end. Each week they send out an email list each week what is available. Members place orders via email each week based on the list. As bonus the program runs 34 weeks but they only charge for 32 weeks. Cost for the UF/Gator CSA:
If you are looking for a CSA program in the Gainesville, Florida area I would certainly recommend checking out the program through Graham Farms. Oh, be sure to tell them that Dee sent you there way.

Today’s challenge a song that was my favorite last year. Last year Santcus Real’s Lead Me from their Pieces of A Real Heart was my favorite.
