On our recent trip to Texas I got to visit  Hardin-Simmons University, my alma mater.  We had gone to campus so I could get a nighttime shot of the stained glass window in chapel of the Logsdon School of Theology. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the entire campus had a nice display of Christmas lights.

Took these on our recent trip west.  These shots features Notrees, Texas which is really little more than a wide spot in the road and a sign. As you can see sky watching is pretty easy to do in the Big Country.

Ok, for all of those who think Texas no trees that is correct. It is a little community west of Odessa.

Top 10: Goals for 2009

I am not really into New Year’s resolutions. Just seems like they are made to be broken. However, I am into goals and have several for 2009.

#10: Finish the dishes I started making. I have all of the bowls and most of the plates.

#9: Laugh more and stress less. Worry less about what I don’t have and enjoy life.

#8: Stop dreaming or saying someday and starting doing something to change things.

#7: Read at least one book a month.

#6: Learn something new every week.

#5: Working on getting healthier.

#4: Get rid of clutter in my home and life.

#3: Develop a plan of action for creating my own business.

#2: Manage resources better, including time.

#1: Focus on relationships not things. This includes relationships with God, family and friends.

My World Tuesday: HSU Alumni Wall

Last week’s MWT featured a quick tour of my alma mater, Hardin-Simmons University. Today I am featuring one of the newer landmarks on Campus. Recently, the Alumni Wall was built around Centinnal Plazza commenerating all of the graduates of HSU. The name of every  alumni from the very first class through the most recent graduates appears on the wall.  It is really a neat feature. I was able to get a picture and rubbing of my name as well as my dad and uncle’s names.

I took this one night when I was playing with my camera settings. Please don’t ask what settings I used because I have no idea. Thought the cloud looked like a heart.
