Well, X was a very though one. I was not going to do X until my mom suggested I look at my ABC books I had as a child.

Several of the ABC and word books I had as a child.

While Little Golden books may not be the greatest literature  I had a lot as a child and they were some of my favorite books.  The red Word book in the back and the Little Golden Picture Dictionary were my favorite. I enjoyed looking at the books and the pictures.

One of my childhood favorites.

X is for Xmas, X-ray and Xylophone

One of my childhood favorites, I enjoyed going looking at the pages of the Picture dictionary and naming all the pictures. Guess I’ve always been a bit of a nerd.

I’m back after taking a break for the Christmas Holiday last week.  Currently, my husband and I live in Florida but are originally from Texas. I thought it would be fun to show the part of the world where I lived for many years.  Today’s post features a quick tour of my Alma Mater, Hardin-Simmons. Hardin-Simmons University is located in Abilene, Texas. So, sit back and enjoy a visit to the 40 Acres.

Hope you are having a Merry Christmas.  I am taking a break from normal blog for the holidays until next week.  Until then ….

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 NIV

Found this one thanks to a suggestion from a reader. The song is Joy by Apollo 100. It is their take on Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.

I had never heard of Apollo 100 but I liked the song.  According to Wikipedia they were a short-lived instrumental group from Britian founded by arranger Tom Parker.  Joy was their first single and has been featured in several movies.
