Guitar Hero

April 15, 2008 TheDeeZone Leave a comment

In another post I referred to the guitar that David Crowder uses for Neverending. He uses a Guitar Hero controller that B-Wack the drummer modified. This video explains the guitar.

Here is a clip I found from Passion:Atlanta this weekend. This weekend I did notice that the guitar he used for the song was smaller than the other guitars. However, it really isn’t unusual for musicians to switch guitars for songs. If you look closely at the beginning it appears to be the same guitar in both videos.

Crowder rocks! He is amazing.

More Thoughts on Christian Music

David CrowderLast week I wrote a post about Christian Music. There were some comments about Christian musicians imitating secular musicians. One complaint I have heard many times is that some Christian musicians do not look very Christian. I believe that we should judge music by the lyrics. What message is it sending.

This weekend at Passion as I was listening to David Crowder I begin thinking about his appearance and the message he was sending. Crowder looks like a freak, hillbilly, or something, couldn’t the guy at least afford a comb and razor. In fact for a long time I was turned off by the guy’s appearance. However, he is an incredibly gifted musician. He is able to blend so many styles of music into his own style. He uses a wide variety of instruments, the dude even uses a modified guitar from “Guitar Hero”. Then there are lyrics of his music. In my opinion Crowder writes some of the best worship music.

O Praise Him

Turn your ear
To Heaven and hear
The noise inside
The sound of angels awe
The sound of angels songs
And all this for a King
We could join and sing
‘All for Christ our King!’

How constant
How divine
This song of ours will rise
Oh, how constant
How divine
This love of ours will rise
Will rise…

Ohh praise Him!
Ohh praise Him!
He is Holy!
He is Holy!

Turn your gaze
To Heaven and raise
A joyous noise
Oh the sound of salvation come
The sound of rescued ones
And all this for a king
Angels join to sing
‘All for Christ our King!’

Oh la la la la la la..
Oh la la la la la la..
Oh la la la la la… laaa laa laa laaa!

How infinite and sweet
This love so rescuing
Oh how infinitely sweet
This great love that has redeemed
As one, we sing…

Hallelujah,
Hallelujah
He is Holy,
He is Holy (x2)

Oh la la la la la la..
Oh la la la la la la..
Oh la la la la la… laaa laa laa laaa!

Hallelujah
Hallelujah,
He is Holy
He is Holy

Oh la la la la la la..
Oh la la la la la la..
Oh la la la la la… laaa laa laa laaa laa!

In closing, I believe the music should speak for itself.
