txflag.jpgYesterday Rebecca posted something about Jeff Foxworthy’s comments on Utahns. It sounded similar to an email I received several months ago about Foxworthy’s comments on Texans. Well, I found those comments and decided to repost them here.

Disclaimer: Not sure if Foxworthy actually said this stuff. However, I did find a reference to it in the Odessa American.

  • If someone in a Lowe’s store offers you assistance and they don’t work there, you may live in Texas;
  • If you’ve worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you may live in Texas;
  • If you’ve had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed a wrong number, you may live in Texas;
  • If ‘Vacation’ means going anywhere south of Dallas for the weekend, you may live in Texas;
  • If you measure distance in hours, you may live in Texas;
  • If you know several people who have hit a deer more than once, you may live in Texas;
  • If you install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both unlocked, you may live in Texas;
  • If you carry jumper cables in your car and your wife knows how to use them, you may live in Texas;
  • If the speed limit on the highway is 70 mph — you’re going 80 and everybody’s passing you, you may live in Texas;
  • If you find 60 degrees ‘a little chilly,’ you may live in Texas;

Bonus: If you can identify the tree in the picture you are probably a Texan.

What food do you dislike?  Grape flavored things. Not grapes just that artificial flavoring. I’m allergic to orange and strawberries. As a kid at church or school I was always given grape flavored things because it was a safe flavor & color.  Red can be either cherry or strawberry but purple is always grape.

What is your favorite CD at the moment? I listen to my iPod not the CD’s themselves. Lately, I have been listening to the Alternative rock and rock genres the most.

What kind of car do you drive? PT Crusier

Friday’s Feast

What does the color dark green make you think of? Spinach. I love spinach even when I was a kid and would only eat a few vegetables I liked it. Guess I was a strange kid because I didn’t and still don’t like potatoes.Soup

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how honest are you? Well, I if said 10 that probably wouldn’t be correct all the time so 8-9.

Main Course

Name something that is truly free. God’s gift of salvation. OK, it wasn’t free it came at a great price that Christ willingly paid for us. God’s gift to us that it is something we do not have to earn or buy but just accept His wonderful free gift.

Dessert

Using the letters in the word SPRING, write a sentence. Oh this should be fun, here goes. I see the plants blooming around me and am reminded of the promise of new life.

This is pretty cool idea. Want to grow your own veggies but have limited space and/or lighting. Sky Watch Friday: Here Come the Bats

Well, I’m trying something new again. I have been looking at Ellen and others Sky Watch photos for several weeks. Last week I took some pictures to use for Sky Watch.

Lake Alice on the University of Florida campus is home to alligators, birds, bats and other creatures. In the student agricultural gardens across the street from the Lake features a bat house. Every night at sunset the bats come out of the house and put on a show. By playing with the settings on my camera I was actually able to catch bats. The little gray almost transparent triangle/diamond shapes by the tree are bats. Funny thing is I almost deleted this shot because I didn’t think I had captured anything.
